A midsummer day at the farm begins with a twinkling sunrise long before most of the world is stirring, except perhaps our frequent woodland guests. We peer through the quiet solitude of the birch-filled forest for a glimpse of the mother moose with her gentle calf and listen for the rustle of wings as elegant cranes pause for a rest. Our most elusive visitors are rarely seen, with the only evidence of their visit to quiet fields being lynx tracks and fox footprints that we find among the whispering aspen. In this beautiful setting our peonies soak up 22 hours of unhurried daylight, growing enormous blossoms with vivid colors in shades of pristine white, delicate pinks, dramatic reds. The summer sun sets with a fiery alpenglow as the sun barely dips below the horizon for the night.
