Nestled in the heart of the Tanana River valley and basking in the glow of the midnight sun, our vibrant, bloomy peonies flourish on our family-run farm. Our family’s love for the quiet and wild places in Alaska is the foundation for our family farm. We are grateful to spend our days side-by-side, working the land, as we carve out our little piece of paradise in the wilderness. Our deepest hope is that when our flowers arrive at your door, a sense of the solitude and towering beauty of Alaska lingers in the luxurious blossoms that grace your bouquets and arrangements.

Alaska Morning Star Peonies is first and last a labor of love; three generations of our family gather together every summer to fill the fields with laughter, muddy boots and the steady rhythm of hard work tending our heirloom quality plants. Our seven grandchildren love to walk the rows of budding plants with their parents, clipping buds and rooting out weeds, scampering off for frequent breaks in the boreal forests surrounding the farm.

A midsummer day at the farm begins with a twinkling sunrise long before most of the world is stirring, except perhaps our frequent woodland guests. We peer through the quiet solitude of the birch-filled forest for a glimpse of the mother moose with her gentle calf and listen for the rustle of wings as elegant cranes pause for a rest. Our most elusive visitors are rarely seen, with the only evidence of their visit to quiet fields being lynx tracks and fox footprints that we find among the whispering aspen. In this beautiful setting our peonies soak up 22 hours of unhurried daylight, growing enormous blossoms with vivid colors in shades of pristine white, delicate pinks, dramatic reds. The summer sun sets with a fiery alpenglow as the sun barely dips below the horizon for the night.
